😮 Oooppps! Sorry I’ve been MIA these past few days! I am celebrating Rosh Hashanah virtually with my congregation. I have an active role this year. I was on a High Holiday Panel Discussion via Zoom discussing Jewish Black Lives yesterday. If you know me, I’m very introverted so this took a lot of strength to step out of my shell, but I am glad I did it. If you missed it, there is a link in my stories. I will add it to my bio later. For those present, here’s a recap of my suggested books: 📚 Black Fatigue: How Racism Erodes the Mind, Body, and Spirit by Mary Frances Winters 📚 Conversations in Black: On Power, Politics, and Leadership
by Ed Gordon 📚 Stamped: Racism, Antiracism, and You: A Remix of the National Book Award-winning Stamped from the Beginning
by Ibram X. Kendi and Jason Reynolds 📚 Stamped from the Beginning
by Ibram X. Kendi 📚 Biased: Uncovering the Hidden Prejudice That Shapes What We See, Think, and Do
by Jennifer Eberhardt 📚 Pushout: The Criminalization of Black Girls in Schools
by Monique W. Morris 📚 The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness
by Michelle Alexander 📚 Other People’s Children: Cultural Conflict in the Classroom
by Lisa Delpit 📚 Why Are All the Black Kids Sitting Together in the Cafeteria?
by Beverly Daniel Tatum  📚 So You Want to Talk About Race
by Ijeoma Oluo 📚 Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents
by Isabel Wilkerson 📚 Post Traumatic Slave Syndrome
by Joy DeGruy *More will be added to this listing and sent in the Temple newsletter. For non-members, I will share in my stories. I will play catch up on a few overdue reviews shortly! L’shanah Tovah! 🍎🍯 💋 xoxo,
Kat
